Pacha Payir Kulambu / Pasi Payir Kulambu / Green Gram Curry

Pacha Payir Kulambu

Ingredients:


Pacha payaru /whole moong dhal- 1 cup
Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
Onion - 1
Green chillies - 2 nos
Curry leaves - a strand
Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
Coriander seeds - 1 tsp
Garlic - 6 nos
Coconut Oil - 2 tsp
Water - 3 cups
Asafoetida - a pinch
Salt to taste.


Method:


1. In a pan, fry the moong dhal for 5 minutes till u smell the aroma of the dhal and cook the dhal by adding required water in the vessel or pressure cooker.











2. In a pan or pot shaped vessel, add 2 tsp of coconut oil, crushed garlic, green chillies, curry leaves, asafoetida, crushed cumin and crushed coriander seeds saute them. Then add chopped onions and saute till onion turns transulent.


3. Now add the cooked moong dal, salt and water and close the pot. Let it cook for 5 minutes



4. Switch off the flame and Mash it( with wooden matthu ) smoothly.



5. Serve hot with rice and coconut oil
