Selavu Rasam


Selavu Rasam

Oil - 2 tsp
Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
Tamarind/Tomato - 1
Curry Leaves - a strand
Coriander Leaves - for seasoning
Water - 3 cups
Salt to taste


To grind:


Black Pepper - 1 tbsp
Cumin seeds- 1 tbsp
Red Chilli - 1
Horse Gram(Kollu) - 1 tbsp
Garlic - 7 pods
Curry Leaves- a strand
Small Onions - 10 nos
Asafoetida - a pinch

Method:


1. Dissolve the tamarind/tomato in water. Grind all ingredients in section to grind in a blender.



 2. In a pan add oil, and add mustard seeds and once it splitters add curry leaves and add the ground content and stir fry for 2 minutes



3. Add tamarind water/tomato water, salt and let it boil. 


4. After it starts to boil switch off the flame.
